This cache has been archived.

GeocacheAlaska!: It's been two weeks since this event was held, so it's time to archive it to keep it from appearing in cachers' pocket queries. The course materials may be found at the GeocacheAlaska! website on the education page. Many thanks to the Education Committee for their ongoing efforts to push the technology to tie Alaskan geocachers together. Our approach is taking hold elsewhere...check out the 10 Years! Discover what sets apart EarthCaches from among the rest of what geocaching offers. Participate in an analysis of this cache type’s uniqueness, and learn how to develop and publish an EarthCache of your own. The event will be hosted in Anchorage and transmitted to remote locations in Homer, Wasilla, Valdez, and Soldotna via WebEx.  Place a watch on this event page to stay appraised of the final details.

Platinum Pin NorthWes (Platinum EarthCache Master) will present EarthCaching FUNdamentals in a fast-paced PowerPoint presentation.  Course content will not exceed thirty minutes with time at the end for questions and answers.  The presentation will cover:

 1. What sets apart EarthCaches from the rest of the type of caches I hunt?
 2. Logging your EarthCache experience (it's a journey of discovery with a test…)
 3. Suggested log content – including those pesky photo requirements
 4. Discover why National Parks have adopted EarthCaching on park lands
 5. Concrete step by step illustration of how to submit an EarthCache
 6. Where to go for more information
