While caching in the area again, I
decided this would be a good spot for my first cache in New
Hampshire. Enjoy
Gov. Dinsmoor
Samuel Dinsmoor was governor of New Hampshire from June 2, 1831 to
June 5, 1834.
Dinsmoor was born in Windham, NH on July 1, 1766; he graduated from
Dartmouth College in 1789; admitted to the bar and practiced in
Keene, NH; served in the US Congress from 1811-13; he served as a
member of the commission to establish the boundary line between the
States of New Hampshire and Massachusetts in 1825; on March 15,
1835 he died and is interned in the Washington Street Cemetery in
Keene, NH.
It should also be noted that Samuel Dinsmoor, Jr., also served as
governor from 1849-1852. He was born in Keene, not in
Windham.
The Cache
If you park at the end of Gov. Dinsmore Rd Ext. you will
have a nice, pleasant walk down to the cache area. Just a little
bit passed the point you are perpendicular cache you find a nice
wide trail that will bring you within 30 feet of the cache. If you
are coming from the bike trail look for the metal bridge just east
of the cache. Follow the trail from there over to the cache area
taking a left on the nice wide trail just before the cache.
The cache it self is a red tube with a log inside a ziplock inside.
Enjoy.
Good luck and good caching,
Loch Cache
Congrats to britpitts on the
