Fly-by on Ringer Loop Traditional Geocache

Head South on Canyon Road in Ellensburg towards Yakima River Canyon. Take a Right on Ringer Loop. Just a few minutes off I-90 and I-82.
Park in the small gravel area nearest the cache. Just a short walk on the trails. Not wheelchair accessible, but flat and easily accessible for jogging strollers and the like.
Dogs can be off-leash if socialized but don't forget the poopy-bag!
The cache is a sandwich-size lock'n'lock container. The kiddoes stashed it with some items. Container is big enough for other small items and travel bugs. Be sure to make sure the cache is secure and camouflaged when rehiding.
This area is a favorite place of our family. The kids love throwing rocks in the river and watching the fly fishermen. The dog loves to romp thru the trails and brush, and swim in the water. Lots of wildlife around - geese, heron, song birds, the occasional deer or rabbit, snakes, rodents...even saw a great-horned owl this past winter.
Down around the loop is a recreational fee-area that many fishermen use. Next to that is the Kittitas County Off-Leash Area. Don't forget to grab our other cache "Who Let the Dogs Out? - Woof-Woof!" in the off-leash area. Read about the 2009 flooding and fence issues on that cache page.
No overnight camping or parking here, but a wonderful place to spend an afternoon. Our favorite time of year is the Fall when all the leaves change, and second fave time is the Winter. Spring and summer are great too, but bring the mosquito repellant and check for ticks.
