The cache is not at the listed coordinates. But its location is not hard to determine nor is the container hard to locate once you reach its coordinates. The container is almost in plain site in a location that will not require trampling plants or disturbing animals.
To find the cache, you must carefully study the
Cosumnes River Preserve Paddling Guide and obey all regulations described therein to reach one of the few locations in the guide where you are allowed to disembark from your watercraft.
Note: you will need
- a non-motorized watercraft to retrieve this cache. The total travel distance is at least 6 miles--some of which requires going against a strong current during the wet months. Numerous sharp snags in the muddy water make inflatable and soft hulled craft inadvisable.
- life-vests for all members of your party
- a pen
- a copy of the Cosumnes River Preserve Paddling Guide (or at least the map inside it)
