Geocache Description:

On a recent hiking trip on Mt Macedon we stumbled across this place on the way to the Memorial Cross. Known as the Western lookout in good weather you will have great views to the West of Woodend and the Calder Freeway. In bad weather all you may see is the inside of a cloud. While we were sitting here pondering what to call the cache, a Wedge-Tailed Eagle (Aquila audax) floated past at about eye height. “Problem solved!” I thought. We watched the Eagle soar in the updrafts from the steep hillside for half an hour. Patrolling the Pasture lands that border the plantation forest below. Truly a majestic sight.

The Cache:

A black 400 ml Sistema tucked out of site and out of the weather. Mind your footing. GZ is a safe location to approach but there are cliffs in the area. The quickest way (from the car park) is to walk around and behind the Tea Rooms on a marked track. Reception may be poor under the tree cover of the path but improves markedly near GZ. Please rehide the container well enough to prevent casual observation.
