”Revennekes”:
Van noord naar zuid loopt door dit gebied de “Peelrandbreuk”.In de ondergrond is deze breuk voor stromend grondwater een ondoorlaatbare muur. Het water kan alleen verder door over de muur heen te stromen (zie de tekening op het informatiebord).
Hierdoor ontstaan aan de horstzijde van de “Peelrandbreuk” natte venige bodems: De wijstgronden. Aan de slenkkant stroomt het water wel weg.
Zo kunnen, tegen verwachting in, hoger gelegen gronden natter zijn, dan de lagere.
U bevindt zich op de Peelhorst. De Breuk ligt ….. (invullen links of rechts) van u (naar het westen).
Om deze earth-cache te mogen logen, ga naar de bovengenoemde coördinaten en:
1. Je mag een foto maken van jezelf en/of je gps voor het infobord, en die bij je log voegen;
2. beantwoord de volgende vragen:

English:
In this area you will find from north to south a fracture-line in de earth’s crust. This fracture-line is known as “Peelrandbreuk”. In this fracture surface is an impermeable wall for flowing groundwater. The water can only go over the wall to flow (see the picture on the information board).
This causes on the “horst”side of the fracture-line wet peaty soils: the “wijstgronden”. On the “slenk”side the water is flowing away. Thus , contrary to expectations, higher grounds are wetter than the lower.
You are at the Peelhorst. The fracture-line is located to the …… (to the west).
To log this earth-cache go to the above coördinates and:
1. You may make a picture of yourself and/or your gps in front of the information-board and add this at your log;
2. Answer the following questions:
- “Revennekes” is an old region name and meant earlier …………………….?
- On wich side of you (left or right) is the fracture-line? (read the informationboard)
