[FI] Jyväskylä on koko maailmassa
yksi urbaanin ulkovalaistuksen edelläkävijöistä - Valon kaupunki. Vuonna 2009
Jyväskylä palkittiin city.people.light -palkinnolla kaupungin
valaistuksesta. Muita valon kaupunkeja ovat mm. Lyon, Seoul ja
Glasgow. Tämä kätkö esittelee yhden kaupungin valaistuskohteista ja
Jyväskylän yliopiston pääkampuksen, Seminaarimäen. Kätkösarjan
muita kätköjä on listattu alla.
[EN] Jyväskylä is one of the
forerunners of the urban outdoor lighting in the world -
a City of
Light. In the year 2009, Jyväskylä received the
city.people.light award. Other cities of light include e.g. Lyon,
Seoul and Glasgow. This cache introduces one of the lighting
installations of the city and the main campus of the University of
Jyväskylä. Other caches belonging to the series are listed
below.
[FI] Jyväskylän yliopisto on saanut alkunsa Uno Cygnaeuksen
kaupunkiin vuonna 1863 perustamasta Suomen ensimmäisestä
suomenkielisestä opettajankoulutusseminaarista. Seminaarinmäen
vanhimmat ”opin kasarmit” ovat tuolta ajalta.
Seminaarinmäki on lisäksi maailmankuulu Alvar Aallon
suunnittelemista rakennuksista.
Kätkön löytäminen vaatii tiedon etsintää kampusalueelta ja sen
soveltamista. Aloita annetuista koordinaateista ja etsi lähin,
isolla merkitty luku. Muunna tämä tuumiksi (so. kerro 2,54:lla).
Merkitään lukua XXX:llä. Etsi tämän jälkeen läheltä kannettavan
valaisimen nimeä kantava rakennus, ja sen ovensuusta tiileen
merkitty luku. Merkitään tätä YYY:llä.
Jatka koordinaatteihin N 62° 14.XXX E 025° 44.YYY. Matkalla kuljet
ohi Valon Kaupungin valaistuskohteen, Pero Luostarisen
Yliopistoportin. Kohteesta etsit mikrokokoista, normaalista
poikkeavaa kätköä. Löydettyäsi tämän tiedät jo lopullisen kätkön
sijainnin. Suorita tentti kirjoittamalla nimimerkkisi
logikirjaan.
[EN] The University of Jyväskylä has its
origins in the first Finnish-speaking teacher training college,
founded in 1863 by Uno Cygnaeus. The oldest buildings at the main
campus, the so-called "barracks of learning", date back to those
years. In addition, the main campus is world famous for its
buildings designed by Alvar Aalto.
In order to find the cache, you're required to search for
information from the campus area, and to apply it. Start from given
coordinates and search for the nearest number, which is marked
clearly. Convert this to inches (i.e. multiply by 2,54). Lets mark
the number with XXX. After this, search a nearby building that
holds the name of handheld lamp. (You might need to ask this from
the natives, since the name is in Finnish!). From its entrance,
find a number tagged to a tile. Lets mark the number with
YYY.
Proceed to coordinates N 62° 14.XXX E 025° 44.YYY. On the way,
you'll pass one of the City of Light illuminations, Yliopistoportti
(University Gate) by Per Luostarinen. In the target, search for
micro-size cache that is not of regular kind. Once you've found it,
you know the location of the final cache. Complete the examination
by adding your entry to the logbook.

Note that the caches are in places, which are not recommended to be
approached during daytime.
