Geocache Description:


Situated on the edge of Wappenbury Wood, a Warwickshire Wildlife Trust reserve, this cache was inspired by Onion Bhaji (GC2291E). There are some permissive paths within the wood, but only one right of way, a bridleway. The area is semi-natural woodland, predominantly oak, but with other species such as birch and holly.

This is another in a series of caches created by ‘A Coventry Way Association’. The association was formed to promote a long distance footpath, A Coventry Way, and to support local authorities in the path’s maintenance. Our primary aim was to encourage people to discover and use the local countryside. A book of 21 Circular Walks was produced, broadly based on the main walk. Our plan is to set out a series of caches, located on or near each of the 21 walks. See (visit link) for further information.

The cache is a micro (35mm film canister), containing just a log and small pencil. It is located on the short-cut section of walk 8. Limited parking is available on Burnthurst Lane at N52 20.118 W001 26.393. Alternatively, walk 8 starts from a lay-by at N52 20.813 W001 28.106, with the option of taking Pagets Lane directly towards the cache.
