Geocache Description:

STEALTH is required; However, you will usually find this area relatively quiet and peaceful yet beware of the apartment complex across the street for prying eyes.

Water fowl and various pond creatures can be observed hanging out here in the warmer months (Muggles too).

Held annually in mid-September, these grounds host the town's harvest fair known as Medfield Day, when residents and local business' alike set up booths and concessions to celebrate the towns anniversary (Est. 1651). Responsible for much of the economic growth of Medfield, the pond is fed by Vine Brook, the source of major mill works during the turn of the century.

***The cache was muggled several times from it's previous hiding spot inside the trees closer to the church. The size has also been upgraded from micro to small, trackables now fit, please use stealth and re-camo well to ensure this one stays***

Although geographically defined as Meetinghouse Pond, locals (including myself) refer to it as Baker's Pond in recognition of the late J.H. Baker who ran a world renowned wagon and carriage manufacturing operation at this site.

The Dwight-Derby House (yellow/white home)is an ongoing restoration project occurring across the pond.

"Since the purchase of The Dwight-Derby House by the town of Medfield in 1996, it has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is one of the top ten oldest homes in America. Built in 1651, the house is a national treasure."
