Geocache Description:

Welcome to Oldsmar, Florida

Flood Control: The construction of the Lake Tarpon outfall canal and water level control structure in the 1970s effectively addressed the severe flooding problems that existed in the Lake Butler Basin prior to these actions.

The canal stretches more than three miles from the southern Cove on Lake Tarpon to Safety Harbor in northern Tampa Bay.

On the wide hard-packed paths on either side of this waterway you will encounter people hiking, walking theiR dogs and fishing. Be sure and wave to any boaters you see.

This cache will bring you south along the east bank
of the canal. You are looking for a micro cache, as you will see there aren't many places to hide anything...
