Cache is located in the Roberts Farm Preserve on Roberts Road off Rt. 117/118 by Norway Lake. This is a 165 acre preserve with numerous well marked trails dedicated to non motorized activities such as hiking, biking, skiing, and snowshoeing. Some trails are dog friendly. See kiosk for trail map and uses.
When you believe you have the cache, please notice how everything is arranged to put it back properly for future cachers enjoyment.
Charles Foster Whitman was born in Buckfield, ME on 02/6/1848. He attended Hebron Academy and Bates Latin School. Rather than go to college, he worked for a judge where he studied law. In 1868 he became a lawyer. In 1885 he became Clerk of Courts, a position he held for 20 years. He was co owner of the local newspaper and founded the public library. He authored the book "A history of Norway, Maine." He died in 1932.
