You're looking for a small round tin...just off the main trail. Parking is free at this trailhead along Coltrane Ave.
VerMagnus and I thought that this section of the Michael D. Antonovich Open Space...Newhall Pass Trailhead...needed a few more cache placements. It takes you into the Santa Clarita Woodlands along the Weldon Canyon Motorway to the crest of the Santa Susana Mountains. Oat Mountain Motorway follows this range westward past the Ventura County line. The hike is a little strenuous to begin with but levels out soon enough for some easy hiking among the Douglas-fir, maple, walnut, ash and oak trees. Many other trails can be found along the main motorway trails. Spectacular views of the Santa Clarita Valley, San Fernando Valley and even downtown Los Angeles are yours on a clear day.
