This is the first cache in a short series placed by the Surrey Climbers – aka Merstham Mafia and Purple Pineapple.
When completing Rebus’s excellent Guildford to Horsham series recently, we discovered some lovely old railway bridges that were crying out for extreme caches.
We do not recommend that you complete these caches at the same time as the rest of the series unless you are happy to walk a considerable distance carrying heavy climbing equipment!
It is a small cache, with a log book and space for a few TBs or coins. Please bring your own pen.

This cache should be retrieved by abseiling down to it. When placing the cache, we used an ascending device to climb back up the rope, although it is possible to abseil to ground level. A safety rope and belayer are recommended for this cache. Once you have spotted the cache location, abseil points are obvious, make sure you use them correctly.
As this is an extreme cache - we are following Cache U Nutter's lead - for a cacher or caching team to log the cache, we would expect YOU to retrieve or replace it. If caching in a group, please post a photo to show that all are 'entitled' to log it - plus it gives us some nice photos on the cache page - thanks!
