Placed this cache here because this is where, when it is very cold in the winter months, that you can get on the Hillbilly Highway. This will take you to the Kingston Peninsula, it is 6.4 km's, less than a 10 min. drive compared to a 45 min. drive around. The river depths at the end of Long Island is the deepest point of any river in North America. This highway is traveled at your own risk, it is only used for a short time. There was a time that the government used to plow this ice road. Over the years there has been vehicles that has gone through the ice and now laying on the bottom of the river bed. There has only been one drowning that I know of and it was from a horse and wagon that used to use the ice road to take there goods to town.
Cache is a large camoed peanut butter jar with a log book, pencil and a few small traders. There is a gift for the FTF so take it and enjoy.
