The Backstory:
The Prowler is one of my two favorite cars (the
other being the Dodge Viper). The background for this Wherigo
geocache goes all the way back to my first multi-stage cache
("prowlin4snakeeyes").
Sadly it had a limited run, but a few months later, second
iteration was created ("prowlin4snakeeyes
II"). However, due to excessive maintenance of all the stages
over the course of the 10 months it was active, I archived that
cache. But with the concept of Wherigo, I can have a multi-stage
cache without all the maintenance. Thus it is time for a third
iteration in the "prowlin4snakeeyes" series.
The Setting:
This Wherigo will take you around Georgetown (8th
Avenue) Community Park. This is a nice little park tucked away in
Georgetown Township. The main
features of the park include a public beach, walking trail around
the lake, fishing area and a pavilion with tables. The pavilion
area is open to the public and cannot be
reserved.
The Experience:
In this Wherigo
cartridge, I will share the story from Concept to Production to the
End of the line for Plymouth (& Chrysler) Prowler. The
zones relate to the colors the Prowler was produced in, and give
highlights of each year of the Prowler's history. I hope you enjoy
the walk in the park today. It is recommended to save often while
playing the cartridge. If you have done either of the other
"prowlin4snakeeyes" caches in this series, you will know what to
expect when you get to the final.
NOTE:
Terrain is
relatively flat, you just cover a lot of it (That is why it is
rated 3 stars). Please allow approiximately 90 minutes to complete
this Wherigo.
Is logging my result any
different for this cache?
Logging your results here on geocaching.com is no different than
any other cache so no changes
there. However, you get a new icon on your profile
page.
Unlocking the cartridge on Wherigo.com is not required, but it
would be greatly appreciated. After you've completed the cartridge
you should see a "prowlin4snakeeyes.gws" file on your device. On
your Garmin Coloradoor Oregon you will find it in the
Wherigo/Saves directory.Upload that file to the Wherigo website.
You may also review the cartridge by choosing Write a
Log.
Logging
requirements:
Once you successfully complete the cartridge and find the geocache,
write a log entailing your adventures by revisiting the cache
page.
Please note -
the development and player software is still in alpha stage and you
may experience issues running it
When you
get to the final, you will find a special gift for you for
completing this Wherigo Adventure.
Feel free to take one - I
will keep this replenished while supplies last.
This is a themed cache.
Please do not leave travel bugs, coins or
other swag in the container.
Thanks for playing our 2nd Wherigo cache.
