Long Description
St. Paul's church was built between 1839 and 1941 by Thomas
Foster of Bristol. It is built in a Neo-Norman style and comprises
a west tower, nave, and sanctuary with a rounded apse, vaulted in
plaster. The matching transepts and vestries were added in 1881 by
W.H.C. Fisher. The wide interior was decorated in the late 19th C
by sisters Rose Emily and Emily Rose Stanton. Only part of that
decoration survives. The font is Neo-Norman and of bold design.
There is stained glass in the apse by Warrington, 1850. The nave
north window is by H.W. Bryans, 1925.
Parking along the main road in Whiteshill is limited, so please
be considerate. Slightly up the hill from the church and off the
left (when travelling up the hill) is a car park. Co-ordinates
N 51° 45.683 W 02° 14.033 . Walking from the car
park, you will pass the Star Inn; recommended if you like a pint
with your caches.

If anybody would like to expand to this
series please do, I would just ask that you could let
Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church
numbers and names to avoid duplication.
There is now a Church Micro statistics page
