Geocache Description:

This series is dedicated to the many math teachers who, over the
years, have drilled and reviewed math facts, postulates, and order
of operations into our heads!

The series of 13 caches focuses on basic math skills from each
grade, from K through grade 12!

This cache focuses on Algebra math skills to obtain the
coordinates of the actual cache!

The cache is NOT at the posted coordinates! To find the coordinates
of the cache, solve the following math problems:

A. Solve: -( 1 + 7x) – 6 (-7 - x) = 36

B. Jan left Rowlett and drove toward Orlando, Florida at an average speed of 40 km/h. Ray left some time later driving in the same direction at an average speed of 48 km/h. After driving for five hours Ray caught up with Jan. How long did Jan drive before Ray caught up?

C. Solve: m² + 7 = 88 (take the positive solution value)

D. To the nearest tenths, what is the value of Tan 17^o? Once you get your answer, subtract 1 from this number.

E. The legs of a right triangle measure 8 and 20 units. What is the measure of the angle opposite the shorest leg? (Take the TENS value of the answer and add 3).

F. To the nearest whole percent, what is the percent change from 309 inches to 299 inches? (ignore the negative sign)

G. The difference of two numbers is 3. Their sum is 13. Find the numbers. Take the LOWEST number.

H. The midpoint of a segment is (4, -2). If one end point of the segment is at (8, -9), what is the x coordinate of the other end point?

I. A boat traveled 210 miles downstream and back. The trip downstream took 10 hours. The trip back took 70 hours. What is the speed of the current?

J. Solve for x. Take the largest value of the solution set. Once you get your answer, subtract 2 from this number.
