Der Zebrafelsen im Rurtal
The zebra rock
Im Rurtal liegen zwei Gesteinsschichten aus unterschiedlichen Erdzeitaltern übereinander:
Der Schiefer und der Bundsandstein.
Bei dem hier aufgeschlossenen Gestein handelt es sich um Tonschiefer.
Die Beschaffenheit von Gesteinen verrät etwas über ihre Entstehungsgeschichte. Tonschiefer ist ein sogenanntes metamorphes Gestein, welches unter Einwirkung von Druck und Temperatur entsteht.
Um diesen Cache als Found loggen zu dürfen, gibt es drei Aufgaben:
1. Mache ein Foto von dir vor dem Zebrafelsen und veröffentliche es in deinem Log (keine Logbedigung, aber ich würde mich über Fotos freuen).
2. Aus welchem Erdzeitalter stammt der hier zu sehende Tonschiefer?
3. Bei genauerem Hinschauen entdeckt man die Adern von weißen Milchquarz, die das Gestein durchziehen. Wie sind diese entstanden?

English Description:
In the Rurtal are two layers of rock from different geological eras on top: The slate and the sandstone.
The rock formation open here consists of clayslate.
The texture of rocks reveals something about their history. Clayslate is a so-called metamorphic rock, which developed under the influence of pressure and temperature.
To be allowed to log this cache as a found there are three tasks:
1. Take a photo of you in front of the zebra rock and publish it in your Log (no sign condition, but I would be happy about photos).
2. Which geological era does the rock come from?
3. On closer inspection you can discover the milk white veins of quartz running through the rock. How are they created?
