Geocache Description:

This cache is located on what used to be the road to the West Marin dump.

This cache is located on what used to be the road to the West Marin dump. Parking is available near the cache. Please use it and AVOID dashing across Highway 1.
The dump was a source of controversy when some West Marin residents objected to having 100 gallons of "dump juice" per day poured into Tomasini creek and the expansion of the dump.
Now closed, the land on which the dump was located is a tempting, but off-limits, open area.
Local lore has it that when the dump owner wanted to widen this road and residents disagreed, he used a backhoe to hack off a large section of rock that was blocking trucks. That section of rock rolled across Tomasini Canyon Road and landed in our yard.
What a Dump! Is in honor of the West Marin residents who fought the expansion of the dump.
The cache contains lots of goodies that should be popular with kids. The ammo can should prove an easy find as well.

The cache owner lives on the other side of the fence. Feel free to say HI and introduce yourself.
