A Series of Traditional Caches from Nano to Micro to reasonable size Tupperware containers, placed in and around Banwell. All are on Public footpaths or in public places and do not require you to venture far from the path. There are 7 traditional caches with a bonus 8th puzzle cache, the co-ords of which can be obtained by retrieving the Letter and Number (ie A1 B2 format) that can be found in each of the 7 traditional caches. They can be done individually or in order 1-7 as a circular-ish walk of approx 4.5 miles, starting and finishing in the Main car park at N 51° 19.737 W002° 52.003 The Bonus cache is within 2 Mile of this parking also. History: This cache was originally set by local cacher Tribilium in 2010 and adopted by us in June 2013 following their move out of the area. This trail was one of the first we tackled as newbie cachers and we had enjoyed the locations / scenery and the interesting variety of cache containers. When it came up for adoption we decided that it would be very sad to see such a nice local trail disappear so we offered to take it on and Tribilium kindly allowed us to adopt it. In an extract from his original cache description, Tribilium explains how the idea for the trail came about. “Snowed in and having found most of the caches within walking distance of home, The Wife decided, 'Well if we can’t go find any we’ll have to hide some.'... and so ensued a 5 mile hike through the snow, preceded by much scurrying around the house trying to find logs etc and suitable containers...... Then starved of finds for a couple of days and to place the last couple of the ringer caches we head off on an 8 mile round trip in the snow to find one of our nearest unfound caches. Definitely need to move to a more cache populated area I think, less tiring...' And eventually, move they did …... although it is rather a long way to go to improve your caching chances Tribilium ;-) !
