Geocache Description:

A quick road side stop - this cache is at the site of the Jack Lovelock Memorial in Crushington near Reefton on SH7.

The plaque was officially unveiled on January 5th 2010 to celebrate his Olympic achievements and 100 years since his birthday. Jack Lovelock was born in Crushington before his family moved to Otago.

More information on the area and a copy of his birth certificate can be found at the Blackspoint Musuem a few minutes drive down the road. Along with “Rich Sheep” which is a couple of minutes walk from the musuem.

The car park is also at the start of Lankey's Creek walk which is where you can find “Bolithos”.

Cache contained logbook, pencil and sharpener plus Reefton Magnet, Battery, Plasters and a Small Frog Toy.

Hope coordinates are okay
