This is a unique shrine to enshrine those who have had relation to aviation history.
You will be surprised to see a big jet engine place right in front of the shrine. The jet was a real one used by Japan Self Defense Force jet fighter.
Wow!! How could one imagine there is a jet engine in this quiet town Yawata?! You can also see a wrecked engine of Zerosen.
The shrine was built by Ninomiya Chuhachi who had ever succeeded in flying a model aircraft for the first time in Japan to prove the aviation principle. However, he gave up his aviation research when Wright Brothers finally invented an airplane to carry passengers.
Since the invention of airplanes, he felt so bad about a lot of accidents, which was the reason to build this shrine to enshrine all the victims of aviation accidents in 1915.
The present shrine was rebuilt in 1989 by his son to commemorate his endeavor in establishing the aviation principle.
A small cache is placed at the jet engine display.
