Geocache Description:

Around two thousand years ago a Roman Temple was located at the above co-ordinates. It is now a scheduled ancient monument so don't try searching for the cache there.

The British Museum describes the destruction of the Romano-Celtic temple at Wanborough as one of the saddest stories in British archaeology.

The site was discovered in 1983 by two metal detectorists, who reported their finds to Guildford Museum. Unfortunately, the location became public and thieves looted the site, digging deep holes and destroying parts of an ancient hedgerow in their quest for treasure.

The area was declared a scheduled ancient monument, but the attacks continued. Deep holes were dug through the temple's foundations, and local residents reported seeing a lorry with no lights driving past full of soil, apparently to be more thoroughly searched elsewhere.

The only good thing that came out of this was that it shocked archaeologists and metal detectorists so much that they decided to work together in the future to prevent anything like it happening again.

To find the cache you must to solve a Latin number puzzle. So dust off your old Latin-English translation dictionary, or alternatively find one online.

You can assume N51 14 and W000 41, so you just need to work out the remaining digits of the co-ordinates (making sure that the numbers are in the correct order of course)

octavus secundus nonus
octavus septimus quintus

You can check your answers for this puzzle on Geochecker.com.

The cache is a 450ml clip top container, large enough for coins and small travel bugs. It is not on private land. Please don't leave any spoilers in your log and have fun.
