Geocache Description:

A small lock-and-lock (like) cache hidden at one end of Croton Point just off the trail from the Nature Center

This cache was placed by David(dog23) with the help of Freya the Geopup (thus the name) on a cold blustery day with the wind whipping off the river. The cache locale provides excellent views over the river -- it must be a popular location in the summer. The cache is a camo'd lock-and-lock style small container with room for small swag, bugs and coins. The cache can be reached easily by following the clear path down from the back of the Nature center. There is a steep drop-off on the water side of the path so please be careful with the small children (and dogs, of course!) Note the scattered oyster shells from the old oyster mounds.

There may be an access fee for the Park in season. Park in the larger parking lot just past the beach. The clearly marked road/path up to the nature center is ahead and to the right as you are entering the parking lot from the road.

While at Croton Point check out Croton River view (visit link) -- another bacmac cache further down on the point -- and "Key to Croton Point" (visit link)
