Church Micro 780 - Cheltenham Minster Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

Yorkshire Yellow: I've been thinking about this one. If I relocate it and change the puzzle, then the cache has changed from what it was originally conceived to be and was published as. Therefore I've decided I'm going to archive this incarnation, thus leaving the location clear, should anyone else want to place a cache here. Thanks to all who played here.

Geocache Description:

Cheltenham Minster, formerly St Mary’s church, in the centre of Cheltenham can prove quite a surprise and a cache has been placed here to make people aware of the church and hopefully be a welcome addition to the areas urban caching.

It is the Parish Church of Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England and is situated between Clarence Street and the High Street. It is the oldest building in the town and dates mainly from the 13th and 14th centuries although there are parts which are both earlier and later. It has an interesting history, several noteworthy memorials and a peal of 12 bells. In the Daily Telegraph poll of December 2004, St.Mary's was in the top 100 'Favourite Churches in the UK'.

The church, believed to be the oldest building in the town, officially became a minster during the 3pm service on Sunday 3 February 2013.
