Iglesia Románica de Castrelos

Localización: Parroquia de Castrelos
Es el templo mejor conservado del románico vigués, junto con la de Santiago de Bembrive y la de San Salvador de Corujo.
Tiene planta de nave única con ábside semicircular, de veinte metros de largo por siete de ancho. Los muros son lisos sin contrafuertes, salvo el ábside que separa el tramo recto del semicircular. En la iglesia, podemos encontrar cinco ventanas en la nave: dos en el muro norte, dos en el muro sur y una en el muro oeste. El ábside está iluminado gracias a tres óculos dispuestos simétricamente en el tramo semicircular. Tiene dos puertas, una en cada panel de la nave, con cuatro y seis columnas, respectivamente.
La entrada del ábside desde la nave se resuelve a través de un arco apuntado. El tramo recto del ábside está dividido por un arco fajón intermedio que sostiene una bóveda apuntada. El tramo semicircular se cubre con una bóveda de un cuarto de esfera, también llamado “de horno”. Todo el ábside se encuentra recorrido interiormente por un banco corrido sobre el que se yerguen las basas de las columnas.

Romanesque Church Castrelos

It is the best preserved Romanesque church of Vigo, along with Bembrive Santiago and San Salvador de Corujo.
It has a nave with a semicircular apse, twenty meters long and seven wide. The walls are smooth without buttresses, except the apse that separates the straight section of the semicircle. In church, we find five windows in the nave, two in the north wall, two on the south wall and one in the west wall. The apse is lit by three symmetrically arranged in óculos semicircular. It has two doors, one on each panel of the spacecraft, with four and six columns, respectively.
The entrance to the apse from the nave is resolved through a pointed arch. The straight section of the apse is divided by an arch transverse ribs intermediate holding a pointed vault. The semicircular section is covered with a vault of a quarter sphere, also called "oven". The whole apse is run internally by a bank run that stand on the bases of the columns.
