Geocache Description:

Shinnoji is a temple built in AD860 next to Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine and shares the gateway to the Otokoyama Komorebi Trail.

Take to the right just before entering the Gate of Iwashimizu Hachimangu, you will come to the Shinnoji Temple entrance.

Take the long stone stairway up then you will come to a landing area where a monorail track runs above your head. A cache is hidden but accessible from the landing area of the stairway. Be as stealthy as possible. Always a good idea to tie your shoe or check your backpack or pretend to take pictures.

Once you get the cache and put it back as if nothing happened, going all the way up the stairway will bring you to the Temple with a big bell (by the way, which is not allowed to bang without permission) and a well-maintained garden. The trail leading to the Otokoyama Mountain starts here.

Enjoy hiking through the Otokoyama Forest.
