Geocache Description:

We have Motorway Mayhem. We have A-Road Anarchy (cos there aren’t many Motorways in Wales!). But what about public transport users? SideTracked Caches are intended to provide quick Cache-and-dashes at Train Stations.

About the station:

Redland is a small unmanned station on the line now known as the Severn Beach line but originally know as the Clifton Extension Railway. This line was built to connect the isolated Bristol Port Railway (that ran between Clifton, later renamed Hotwells, station and Avonmouth) with the rest of the national network.

It took a petition from local residents to get a station at Redland, some 12 years after the line itself was first run. Opened on 12th April 1897, Redland station had two platforms, with the booking office situated high on the bridge between them rather than one of them. In the early 1970s, the second line was removed and the buildings on the second platform were demolished.

About the line:

The line is currently operated by First Great Western with trains running from Bristol Temple Meads. It has been described by Thomas Cook as one of the most scenic railways in Europe, the section along the Avon Gorge being an especial favourite of mine. Frequency on the line has recently been improved and an hourly Sunday service introduced.

The cache:

You are looking for a 35 mm magnetic film canister. It can't be reached from the station platform (unless you had very long arms!). Joking aside, please don't try and get the cache from the platform. Please also return it to where you found it (so the hint makes sense).

This is Babblingskate's first cache so any constructive comments are welcome.
