Geocache Description:

This is a multi cache located at St. Joseph’s Church in Charlton, MA. The final location is only a short walk from the church parking lot.

This cache is one in my Eagle Scout Series. My goal is to bring you to a place that an Eagle Scout has completed his Eagle Scout Service Project. There are several Eagle Scout Projects here as St. Joseph’s Church is a sponsor of a Boy Scout Troop.

One of the requirements for a Life Scout to become an Eagle Scout is they must demonstrate leadership of others in a service project that is helpful to their religious organization, school or community. They must plan all the details of the project, obtain any permits or permissions necessary and then recruit and lead a team to complete their vision. They need to seek donations of materials, or plan a fund raiser, that will supply the needs of their project. They will manage change and resolve any issues that arise as they work to complete their goal. Please take a moment as you pass by these areas to realize that what you are looking at is the work of a very dedicated responsible young man. These are perhaps the future leaders of our great country.

Stage 1:
N 042 08.665
W 071 58.442

This will bring you to a stone wall. The wall, landscaping and sign were completed as an Eagle Service Project. You will need to get the time of the “Sacrament of Reconciliation” A:BC pm

Stage 2:
N042 08.[A+A] [C-C] [B-A]
W071 58.[C] [A] [C-B]

This is another Eagle Service Project. This structure originally stood at the Yankee Drummer Inn in Auburn MA. It was refurbished and placed here for it's current purpose.

For this stage you need the following:
Y = Number of posts with wooden balls
Z = Number of fingers baby Jesus is holding up (don’t include the thumb)

Also, here you will see a number of stations standing behind the structure. These are known as Stations of the Cross. The posts and housings were designed and built by yet another Life Scout as he worked towards becoming an Eagle Scout.
P = Number of Stations

Final Stage:
N042 08.[Y+Z] [A] [P/2]
W071 58.[C] [B-Y] [Y]

The final is not an Eagle Service Project, but easily accessed from stage 2.
