Der Streckelsberg ist eine der größten Erhebung der Urlaubsinsel Usedom. Von der Spitze der Erhebung hat man einen schönen Blick auf die Ostsee. Die Besteigung ist einfach, also Kinder einpacken und hoch geht´s.
- Der Streckelsberg entstand in der letzten Eiszeit
- Riesige Eismassen drange von Norden her in die Region vor und brachten verschiedenste Gesteine mit.
- Nachdem das Eis geschmolzen war blieben die typischen Grundmoränen zurück.
- Während sich das Eis zurückzog, gab es immer wieder kleiner Vorstöße der Gletscher, bei denen Moränen entstanden.
- Während eines solchen Vorstoßes entstand auch der Streckelsberg als sogenannte Stauchendmoräne.
- Das Eis hat nochmals loses Sediment vor sich hergeschoben, welches unter vertikalem und horizontalem Druck gestaucht und aufgetürmt wurde.
- Bei der Entstehung war der Streckelsberg deutlich größer als heute.
- Durch Erosionen und die Brandung der Ostsee schrumpfte der Streckelsberg.

- Peilt von obigen Koordinaten 124,7° und 548m, dann seid Ihr auf dem Streckelsberg.
- Macht ein Foto von Euch an abgebildetem Ort.
