Another walk along a
Tidbinbilla Fire trail. This one is fairly
up all the way though the steepest parts are nearer the
beginning.
Its about a 6km return walk to the cache from the Devil's Gap
carpark. In the warmer months, I'd suggest doing the walk in
the
morning as there is not much shade on the first bit of the
walk.
Once you have done your deed, it is worth walking a bit
further
along the trail, 300m past the gate. You'll get a different view
of
the Corin Dam road beneath you and if the sun is right, you'll
see
the sparkling waters of Gibraltar Falls .
On the way back, you'll get beaut views of the Tidbinbilla Range
and you might want to marvel at how this Agent Basil chap managed
to conquer the Camel's Back "Arabian Caravan" all by himself and
not soiling himself when he almost trod on the Copperhead.
