The township of Muinta, overlooking Lake Redona, is reachable only by a suspension bridge near the village of Faidona.
========= ITALIAN (english below) ======== Si tratta di una Puzzle Cache, per trovare le coordinate esatte dovete trovare alcuni indizi (indicati in lettere) e sostituirle alle coordinate sommarie N46 15.CED E12 44.BAA . La borgata di Muinta si affaccia sul lago di Redona ed è raggiungibile solo a piedi attraverso una passerella pedonale posta nelle vicinanze della frazione di Faidona. Il 16 aprile 1977 quattro vigili del fuoco ed un impresario persero la vita precipitando con l’elicottero nel lago di Redona durante le operazioni di soccorso ai terremotati. In particolare trasportavano materiali per la costruzione di prefabbricati necessari ad ospitare gli abitanti di Muinta che alloggiavano nelle tende, dopo i danni subiti dal terremoto del 1976. Al loro sacrificio fu dedicata una chiesetta. Potete parcheggiare al punto N46 15.129 E12 44.642, scendete a piedi lungo il selciato dove si presenta l’imbocco per il lungo ponte sospeso. Qui (posizione N46 15.164 E12 44.652) cercate il primo indizio: una targa in legno mostra una data, cercate l’anno, le ultime due cifre sono il valore “AA” . Attraversate il ponte; non fatevi prendere dal panico, è normale che lo si senta oscillare anche notevolmente. Risalite fino in paese alle coordinate N46 15.254 E12 44.750 dove troverete la chiesetta. Nella targa in marmo di sinistra, in alto, compare una data. L’ultima cifra dell’anno è il valore “B”, mentre la prima cifra della data (relativa al giorno) è il valore “C”. Sempre nella medesima struttura, ma nella targa alla destra dell’ingresso (sotto una grande ancora) è impressa, sul fondo della medesima, un’altra data. Dopo “Tramonti di sotto” prendete la prima cifra, relativa al giorno: avete trovato il valore “D”. Visitate il grazioso borgo in cerca di un’abitazione (circa N46 15.250 E12 44.790), sulla cui porta è inserita una targa in bronzo che reca la scritta “Base Scout Friuli V.G. – Muinta”, il numero civico di tale abitazione è il valore “E”. Ora sostituite i valori alle coordinate N46 15.CED E12 44.BAA Congratulazioni, sapete dove si nasconde la Geocache! Se siete in compagnia di bambini o avete con voi dei cani, fate attenzione ai bordi del ponte affinché non si espongano a rischi inutili. Il ponte è certamente sicuro, ma non è il caso di mettersi a saltare provocando ulteriore oscillazione della struttura. ============ ENGLISH ============== This is a puzzle cache: to find the exact coordinates you have to follow some clues, find the numbers corresponding to the letters, and replace with values at the coordinates N46 15.CED E12 44.BAA. The township of Muinta, overlooking Lake Redona, is reachable only by a suspension bridge near the village of Faidona. On 16 April 1977 four firefighters and a businessman were killed in a helicopter crash into Redona Lake during relief operations for earthquake victims. In particular they where transporting materials for prefabricated buildings needed to accommodate the residents of Muinta who were living in tents, after the damage caused by the earthquake of 1976. A small church was devoted to their sacrifice. You can park at point N46 15.129 E12 44.642, get off by foot along the trail to the entrance on the long suspension bridge. Here (location N46 15.164 E12 44.652) find the first clue. A wooden plaque shows a date: look at the year, the last two digits are the value "AA". Cross the bridge; do not panic, it is normal that bridge sways. Reach the village at N46 15,254 E12 44,750 where you will find the church. In the left marble plate, find the first date (at top of the plate). The last digit of the year is the value "B", the first digit of the date (day) is value "C". Also on the same building, but in a marble plaque on the right of the door (under a large anchor) another date is stamped on the bottom of it. After "Tramonti di Sotto" take the first digit of the day, and you find the value "D". Visit the pretty village in search of a house (about N46 15.250 E12 44.790), where above the door there is inserted a bronze plaque engraving the inscription "Scout Friuli V.G. - Muinta": the nearby civic number is value "E". Now change the words with values at N46 15.CED E12 44.BAA. Congratulations, you got the new GPS coordinates to where the Geocache is hidden! If you're with children or if you have a dog, beware of the edges of the bridge so you do not expose to unnecessary risks. The bridge is certainly safe, but it is not a good idea to jump while crossing, causing further swinging of the structure.
