The Llangollen Railway is a volunteer run heritage railway located
in and around Llangollen, North Wales. The railway is staffed by
over 200 dedicated volunteers and around 20 paid staff.
The railway runs a regular steam service, with original British
Rail and Great Western Railway steam engines hauling 1960s coaches,
with a choice of traditional compartments or a heritage open
corridor coach.
The train ride is great fun for the entire family, so please
take advantage of this and have a go! Be sure to ask the drivers if
you can have a look in the cab - they are usually happy to
oblige.
A diesel and diesel multiple unit service are also available on
the railway on specific dates - for details of timetabling please
see the website.
Enjoy the beautiful railway, the scenic train ride and the
cache!
