Generally flat. Only 100m from the parking place at N51 54.665, W000 46.567. Unfortunately, the picnic site is blocked off to vehicles, but there is room to park at what used to be the entrance and there is a PF gate to see the monument.
'3rd London Airport?' was the first cache we ever did, over 10 years ago and so when the original was archived there were sentimental reasons for us to revive it. The site, Cublington Spinney, was planted in the 1970s by Buckinghamshire County Council to celebrate the overturning of a decision to locate London's third airport here. Hard to imagine now, but the spinney marks what would have been the centre of the proposed airport. Had it gone ahead, this area and the surrounding villages and farms would have been flattened to make way for a four runway international airport. There is a monument and plaque in what used to be the parking and picnic area not far from the actual cache.
