This cache is a short distance from Hillside Station, now a Merseyrail Station, but formerly a LMS station. The area is paved, well lit and accessible 24/7 although the road can be quite busy at times. Cache is now a com'd tube - bring your own pen please
Replaced again with a camo'd tube You will need to bring your own pen Placed close to Hillside Station. The cache is not within the station buildings and cannot be reached from the platform. The station opened in May 1926 on the Liverpool to Southport Railway Line which had been opened much earlier in 1848. The station was built by the London, Midland and Scottish Railway and the letters LMS are still clearly visible on the outside of the main station building. There is limited parking outside the station itself, or you can park in one of the side streets. Following nationalisation the station was run by British Rail until it was privatised and it is now part of the Merseyrail train network.
