Geocache Description:

This Shinto Shrine (Raiden Inari Shurine) is about 300 m from JR Shinjyuku Station.

Cache is hidden by left side.
The contents are only a log sheet.
Please bring the writing materials.

This Shinto shrine was enshrined in Hanazono Shinto shrine 80 years ago, and moved to Shinjuku 5.
However, a new building of a Shinto shrine was secretly built at an old address.
This Shinto shrine is quietly enshrined to the vicinity of the valley and the large highway intersection in the building.
Here is a place where the legend from old intersects with babel in the city.

雷電稲荷神社は、新宿駅から３００ｍぐらいの距離にあります。

キャッシュは短い参道内左側にあります。
夜になると柵が閉じられる社殿付近にはありません。
マイクロサイズなので筆記用具持参でお願いします。

この雷電稲荷神社は、８０年前、花園神宮に合祀され、新宿５丁目に移転しました。
しかし旧所在地に新しい社殿が人知れず建立されています。

「奥州征伐」に向かう頼朝側の武将が、雷雨にあい雨宿りをしていると、どこからか一匹の白いキツネが現れ、目の前で頭を下げた途端、たちまち雷鳴が止み空が晴れあがった、という逸話が残っています。

近くには甲州街道と明治通りの交差点があり、大きなビルが点在します。
ビルの谷間、大街道の片隅でひっそりと祀られている神社です。
ここは、古くからの伝承と都市の喧噪が交差する場所かもしれません。

また近くに、江戸時代から残る「時の鐘」を所蔵する天龍寺があります（駅方向へ戻る感じですが）
