LANGFORD AND
KELMSCOTT STATION
This cache lies on the side of the old Witney to Fairford branch
line which was operated by the Great Western railway between 1873
and 1962. A very comprehensive website with the history of this
line can be found here. My thanks go to Martin Loader for the permission
to use picture below and for the information on his
site.
The station buildings are not here anymore, but a lampost as in the
picture can still be seen. Despite its name this station was a mile
from Langford, but two miles from Kelmscott. It was also 83 miles
and 27 chains from Paddington station!
The cache is hidden along the bridleway from where the station used
to be. It is a clic top container in a camo
bag.
