Geocache Description:

Co-ordinates will take you to the Holy Epiphany Church where you will find a stone commemorating the building of the church. A quick little multi.

If anybody would like to expand this series please do, we would just ask that you could let sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication. Many thanks to sadexploration.

The church was built in 1953 to cope with a growing housing development to the north of Castle Lane in Bournemouth. The money for its construction came from funds set aside for the rebuild of a church in Southampton City Centre which had been destroyed by bombs during the 2nd World War and was no longer needed. The church is single-cell with a square tower. The inside is beautiful with plastered walls and ceiling, enhanced by warm-tinted windows. The east-end stained-glass window is superb and restful. The current building was consecrated on 29th October 1953, so it celebrated its Golden Jubilee year in 2003. It is situated on the busy Castle Lane West, in Bournemouth. It has a large robed choir and a single bell in the tower. The church acoustics are very good due to the high ceiling. Among many other clubs the hall is home to Scouts and Guides,a youth group, toddler groups and Sunday school with creche.
