All that remains of the Lightning Peak Lookout are
the concrete foundation blocks that once anchored it to the
mountain. The lookout was destroyed in 1960.
You can drive within a few feet of the lookout with a 4WD vehicle
with tires capable of handling the sharp rocks present on forest
service roads. The lookout is approximately 30 miles east of
Yellowpine, ID.
