Geocache Description:

Hidden in the 36-acre Poindexter Nature Preserve in Easton, CT, this cache is a regular-sized, well-camouflaged container.

The name of this cache honors the day it was first hidden, Labor Day, and also the fact that when we explored some of the other trails in this preserve, our curiosity led us to a trail which ended near the road. We walked on Knapp Street back to Judd Road instead of backtracking through the woods. And then we trekked back to the cache because we forgot to label the log. All in all, it was more than a two mile hike that we weren't expecting!

Because we hid the cache too close to Aaronajds' other cache the first time, we had to re-hide this one a week after Labor Day weekend.

Park on the small dirt area on Judd Road, where you will see a brown sign for the entrance of the Poindexter Nature Preserve.

Included in the cache is a log book with a small pencil, a few treasures, and a cash prize for the FTF. If you take something, leave an item of similar value for the next geocacher. Please re-hide well!

Driving Directions:
Merritt Parkway north to exit 44; turn right onto Black Rock Turnpike (Route 58); drive north around 3.5 to make a right turn onto Westport Road (Route 136); keep heading straight and Westport Road will head into Stepney Road (Route 59). Follow Stepney Road to a left turn onto Judd Road; Judd Road will cross Maple Road; as soon as you reach Sky Line Drive on the left, drive 0.3 of a mile and park at a small pull-off at the dirt patch on the left, near house #425.
