Geocache Description:

A Church Micro at St Luke's, Lynch with Iping Marsh.

This simple and quiet little church dates from 1700-1712, when Peter Bettesworth was chosen to build it, as the lintel over the doorway records. It was in place of the parish's long-gone Domesday church near Bepton and was very small. Charles Taylor of Hollycombe extended it in 1814, giving the bell and the fine German glass of ca. 1465 in the north window. At the end of the 19th century it was extended again in celebration of the Queen's jubilees, by the Hawkshaw family, also of Hollycombe, and the main windows and the organ were given.
You will need to look around the churchyard to find the answers to questions in order to find the cache.
Question 1: Find the grave of Clara Emma Titcombe at N 51 02.442 W 000 46.341. What year was she born? 18AB and what year did she die? 19C8.
Question 2: What date is above the arch at N 51 02.433 W 000 46.327? Answer = 18D6.
Question 3: Find the celtic cross which marks the grave of Cicely Mary Hawkshaw at N 51 02.446 W000 46.310. What year was she born? 18E7. (Whilst there, see which famous family she was born into - not for the cache, just out of interest!)
Now, look for the cache at N 51 02.(B+C)AD W 000 46.EBE

If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication
