S. Pedro de Castelões fica situado no extremo sudoeste do município. É a maior freguesia em termos de densidade populacional e é rodeada por uma série de serras (Chã, Senhora da Saúde, Pedregais, Coto, Felgueira, Barbeito e Escaiba).
As actividades principais nesta freguesia são a apicultura, a pecuária, a agricultura e a caça. A indústria, essencialmente de metalurgia, lacticínios, latoaria, serralharia, construção civil, serração de madeira e abate de aves, é outra importante fonte da economia da freguesia.
A sua situação privilegiada pela abundância de água faz com que S. Pedro de Castelões seja uma das freguesias com origem mais remota.
Destacam-se na freguesia alguns miradouros de onde se têm as melhores vistas do concelho.
É de referir a sua riqueza a nível de património religioso com a Lenda da Nossa Senhora do Castro das Baralhas, A Igreja Matriz em honra de S. Pedro (orago da freguesia), a Capela de Nossa Senhora da Saúde, a Capela de S. Gonçalo em Coelhosa, Capela de Santo António na Felgueira, Capela de Nossa Senhora das Necessidades em Cavião, a Capela de S. Sebastião no Mártir, a Capela de Nossa Senhora da Piedade em Macinhata e a Capela das Almas nos Dois.
Há quem diga que a Nossa Senhora foi perseguida por quem e para quê?
Diz a lenda que tentaram afogar a Nossa Senhora, fazendo uma espécie de represa, só que a Nossa Senhora ao passar por ali a fez desabar.
Outros afiançam que há no Crasto uma gruta que contém muito ouro, mas por artes diabólicas ou divinas a gruta é impenetrável, o que se conta sobre a gruta causa arrepios, pelo menos á a imagem que tenho do que me foi contado. Há quem diga ainda que existe uma passagem subterrânea que vai do Crasto à Pedra Má em Ínsua.
Contam ainda que há ali uma grade em ouro a qual já foi içada do fundo do poço á superfície, causando tal espanto aos que puxavam que estes ao vê-los exclamaram todos, por Deus já cá está, só que acto contínuo a grade voltou para a fundo do poço, onde ainda hoje se mantém.
Foi tão constado nesse tempo que muitos foram em busca da grade que embora não fosse encontrada, a verdade é que descobriram uma pedra enorme onde se lia a seguinte frase: «Quem esta pedra virar, grade tesouro há-de encontrar». Isto causou tamanha curiosidade no povo, que muitos foram os que vieram ajudar a virar a Pedra. E qual não foi o seu espanto, pois tanto trabalhinho tinha dado a virar, «que eu deste lado já não podia estar».
'De manhã é o milagre, todos os dias há um milagre de luz sobre a terra quando o sol nasce em Vale de Cambra.'

S. Pedro de Castelões is located in the extreme southwest of the city. It is the largest parish in terms of population density and is surrounded by a series of mountains (Cha, Lady of Health, stony ground, Coto, Felgueira, Barbeito and Escaiba).
The main activities in this parish are beekeeping, livestock, agriculture and hunting. The industry essentially metallurgy, dairy products, tin, metal, construction, lumbering and slaughter of birds, is another important source of economy of the parish.
Its privileged situation for the abundance of water makes S. Pedro de Castelões is one of the parishes with more remote origin.
