Dronning Sophie ferierte ved Vingersjøen i perioden 1888-1904. Hun
var dronning i Norge og Sverige fra 1873 og til unionsoppløsningen
i 1905. Hun var glad i naturen og likte godt å komme hit opp for å
nyte utsikten inn i hjemlandet sitt. Derav navnet Dronningens
utsikt.
Idag er stedet et yndet turdestinasjon, og det er satt opp en
gapahuk der oppe.

Queen Sophie had many of her holidays in this district during the
years 1888 to 1904. She was queen in Norway and Sweden from 1873 to
1905. She liked to ride up here and enjoy the view towards sweden,
her home country. "Dronningens utsikt" translates to "The Queens
View".
Today this site is very popular for recreation, and a small bivouac
is built up there.
