Iwashimizu-Hachimangu is one of three famous Hachimangus, standing on top of Otokoyama mountain.
Take Keihan Line train to get off Yawata-shi station. You will see a steep mountain Otokoyama just behind the station. Riding on cable-cars or walking on foot, you can visit the Iwashimizu-Hachimangu shrine on top of Otokoyama and appreciate ancient atmosphere. A cache tupper is hidden in vicinity of the shrine main gate . The mountain Otokoyama is also famous for the bamboo bush. The legendary inventor Thomas Edison could not have invented reliable light bulbs without filaments made of the bamboo grown here!! Come visit this interesting place.
