The coordinate bring you to the area of the garnet fields in a village Zdirnice under the Krkonose Mountains. You can try your patience and luck during your garnet-washing.

Granati Bohemici
Garnets are one of the largest families of gemstones. There are about a dozen varieties of garnets found world wide; they come in all colors except blue. The name 'Garnet' stems from the Greek word for pomegranate, a fruit with clusters of fiery red seeds. The Czech Republic in Europe is one of the few places in the world where the 'Pyrope' variety of garnets can be found. The pyrope has the deepest fiery red color of the entire garnet family. This unique garnet is world reknown as the famous Bohemian Garnet and has been mined from the mountains of Bohemia for over 600 years.
Garnets were highly popular in Europe during the 18th and 19th century and enjoyed great admiration and demand during the Victorian age. The traditional hand-crafted Bohemian design places great emphasis on the arrangement of the garnets which dominate over the metal in each individual piece of jewelry. The brilliant sparkle of the Bohemian Garnets is due to their excellent clarity, transparency and high refraction of light.

2. Find three pieces (or more) of Bohemian garnet and take the picture of them close to your GPS showing your accurate GPS position. Upload this pictur to your log.
3. Take a picture of you during garnet-washing. Upload this picture to your log.
You will need a gold pan for your garnet-washing.
The first area of garnet fields begins near by the crossing in Vestrev (waypoint) and follows the stream of the brook up (about 2 km) in direction Nova Paka.
The second area is situated along brooks in Zdirnice. You can choose the place of a realize of tasks.
Cesky granat nalezi do pocetne skupiny granatu, jichž je okolo 20 druhu a lisi se zejmena chemickym slozenim. Maji ruzne barvy snad krome modre. Ceska republika je jednim z mala mist na svete, kde se da nalezt druh granatu zvany pyrop. Je to pruhledny az prusvitny mineral, drahokam drobných rozmeru (od 0,2 do 0,8 cm), ohnive az krvave cervene barvy (zbarveny zelezem s primesi chromu). Jeho nazev je odvozen z rec. Pyropos, pyr = ohen, ops = oko, z lat. Carbunculus = oharek uhli, granatus = zrnkovity, starocesky se nazyval podle Klareta zrnakoc. Je vyjimecne barevne staly, odolava zaru i kyselinam. .
Z ricnich naplavu byl cesky granat nahodile sbiran od praveku. Po roce 1700 se se rozsirily v klenotnictvi. Jejich velka obliba vedla cisarovnu Marii Terezii k vydani zakazu vyvozu ceskych granatu ze zeme v roce 1762. Byl tim ochranen domaci monopol tezby a zpracovnai granatu. V tomto obdobi vznikaly brusirny techto kamenu. Ceske narodni obrozeni prosadilo cesky granat za mineralogicky symbol Cech. Stal se atributem ceskych vlastencu.
Podminky pro zalogovani teto kese:

- jake jine mineraly je mozne najit Na Rovnich, kopci nad obci Zdirnice?
2. Najdete alespon tri kusy (nebo i vice) ceskeho granatu a vyfotte je s vasi GPS tak, aby byly videt aktualni souradnice. Foto prilozte k logu.
3. Vyfotte se pri ryzovani a fotku pridejte k logu.
Na ryzovani budete potrebovat ryzovaci panev (nebo nejakou nahradu).
Granaty se vyskytuji v ricnich naplavech. Lokalitu ryzovani si muzete vybrat sami, podminky logu nemusite plnit na uvedenych vychozich souradnicich.
Oblast vhodna pro ryzovani zacina u krizovatky v obci Vestrev (Waypoing) a pokracuje asi 2 km proti proudu potoka smerem na Starou Paku.
Dalsi oblast se nachazi podel potoku v obci Zdirnice.
