Pill Bottle

This cache was placed for the Iowa Geocachers Organization Hike-N-Seek 2009 Event. Park Safely and avoid the roped off bridge structure. There is an old abandoned bridge that collapsed into the Iowa side of the Big Sioux River on Tuesday, January 3, 2006. This 320 foot long bridge is in Section 32 of Sioux Township on vacated 483rd Avenue. It is still there and is located about 200 (+/-) yards downstream along the river bank. This bridge was known as the "Old Jefferson Bridge", the "Hunter Bridge", the "White Bridge", the "Last Twin Bridge" and the "Birkley Bridge". It was built in 1915 and was vacated by the state on October 2, 1967.
