Slepnis atrodas pie bijušas Strazdumuižas tekstilmanufakturas. Šo manufakturu 1827. gada dibinajis Johans Teodors Pihlavs, kurš, un kura mantinieki, neesot izturejušies parak laipni pret stradniekiem. Manufaktura bijušu aprikota ar tvaika dzinejiem un modernam anglu verpšanas mašinam. Pirmssakumos darbinieki esot bijuši no muižniekiem nomati dzimtlaudis (zinams, ka no Cernigovas muižnieces grafienes Zavadovskas 1850.g. nosutitajiem 146 dzimtcilvekiem 1858.g. stradaja vairs tikai 91, parejie bija miruši vai zaudejuši darbaspejas), velak verveti ari brivlaistie. 1890. gada Teodors Eduards Pihlavs tekstilfabriku pardeva kadai anglu akciju sabiedribai. The cache is located near now defunct Strazdumuiža textile mill. The mill was founded in 1827 by Johann Theodore Pichlau, he and his sons got a bad reputation because of the rude attitude to the workers. The mill was equipped with modern steam-engines and English spinners. At early years workers were rented serfs (it is known that out of 146 serfs from Chernigov noblewomen countess Zavadovsky only 91 was working in 1858, the rest has dead or disabled). Later libertines were involved in manufacturing. In 1890 Theodore Eduard Pichlau sold the textile mill to some English company. Later history is unknown but a textile factory was located in the building to the end of 20th century. The current building with two towers was built in late 19th century and now is used for a numerous purposes.
