Here it is, the first official cache released by The Wesolowski Adventurers! The cache is placed near the top of Church Mountain, it's very easy to find, but very difficult to get to.
The road to the trail head of Church Mountain has been fixed. The total round trip mileage is now just 8.5 miles (was 2 miles longer when the bridge was out!). Be very prepared for a hard hike, there's nearly 4000 feet of elevation gain from the trail head!
To get to the trail head follow the Mount Baker Highway to about mile post 38.8, then take a left onto Forest Road 3040 (also referred to as East Church Mountain Road) for about 2.8 miles. I've seen cars at the trail head, but would recommend a truck or suv if you have it, the road is bumpy. Unfortunately the "driving directions" provided by Geocache are not accurate, and use the wrong road. The actual cache is a small ammo container. It should be easy enough to spot on the hike up to the top, this is by design. The hard part is hiking to the cache. A few notes of caution:
- This is a difficult hike. Be prepared.
- This is not a hike for children. Parental discretion recommended.
- Hiking near the top can be dangerous. Caution is very advised.
- The cache is NOT at the very top (summit).
- The cache is NOT over any ledges, cliffs, etc.
- The cache is only a few feet from the established trail. No climbing or off-trail-walking is necessary.

Use your best judgment with the environment and conditions. As conditions and cache locations may vary, it is the responsibility of the searcher to be familiar with the conditions in the area to be searched, to adequately prepare for those conditions, and to conduct oneself safely and responsibly and remain within his or her personal abilities and limitations. Children should be well supervised. When and if you find a cache, you are under no obligation to touch it, reach it, climb to it, dig for it, pick it up, or even open it. Open it at your own risk.
