While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for the cache owner and block other cachers from placing a cache in the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can’t do so forever. Due to lack of response from the owner, this cache listing is now archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location.

If it hasn’t been done already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible. If the owner wants it reopened, send me an e-mail and I’ll be happy to unarchive the cache listing if it still satisfies the requirement/guidelines.

Geocache Description:

Secluded wooded lake by the R44 between Sandnes and Stavanger

This cache is hidden around a small man-made lake by the side of the R44 between Stavanger & Sandnes. At the time of writing the pond is nearly dry after major repair work to the dam (hence the name) but is starting to fill up again and the bird-life is starting to return. Remember to bring food for the locals!-)

The area makes a nice diversion on the way down to Vaulen beach and the "Vaulen" & "Vaulen North" cache sites.

This cache replaces the earlier "Wooded Duck Pond" cache which was destroyed along with its hiding place earlier this year.
