Parkmöglichkeit besteht beim Rechberger Friedhof direkt bei der
Kommende Rechberg. Für den Weg zum Cache benötigt man ca. 10 min.
The parking place is near the cementery and the commandary
Rechberg. The way to the cache takes about 10 min.
Heute liegt Rechberg ruhig und abseits der Seebergstrasse. Bis 1878
allerdings führte eine alte Römerstrasse als einziger
Transitweg nach Eisenkappel und auf den Seeberg über den Bergrücken
von Rechberg. 1236 wurde die Burg Rechberg erstmals erwähnt. Im
Eigentum der Kärntner Herzöge war sie Zentrum eines
Verwaltungsbezirks mit großen Besitz. Mit dem Bau eines
Schlossgebäudes direkt in Rechberg verlor die alte Burg an
Bedeutung. Das neue Schlossgebäude wurde dem St. Georgs-Ritterorden
als Kommende gestiftet.
Die Ruine der alten Burg Rechberg liegt vergessen und versunken im
Wald. Allerdings verbirgt sie wie jede Ruine einen Schatz. Beim
Durchschmökern alter Bücher sind wir zufällig auf die
Lagekoordinaten des Schatzes gestoßen.
This days Rechberg lays calm aside the Seebergstraße. Until 1878
the only road to Eisenkappel and Seeberg was an old Roman road over
the ridge of Rechberg. At 1236 the castle of Rechberg was first
time noted. When the carinthian dukes were the owner of the castle,
it was the center of a big country with big assests. When a new
castle direct in Rechberg was built, the old castle lost account.
The new castle was donated to the order of St. Georgs-knights as a
commandary.
The ruin of the old castle lays forgotten in the wood. But like
every ruin it masks a treasure. Browsing in old books we
fortunately found the koordinates of the treasure.
